Who we are

Service that stays close to home.

REAL Trust was established in 1996 and registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. From its home in Dharapuram, the trust has built a practical, grounded model of care for rural elders: a safe place to live, food cooked with attention, and physiotherapy that helps people keep moving.

More than 25 elders live at the home, and our physiotherapy clinic serves over 50 older people each month. Our programmes reach rural communities across Dindigul, Theni, Karur and Tiruppur — places where families often live far apart and support services are thin.

  • A home for 25+ rural elders
  • Physiotherapy for 50+ people each month
  • Daily meals, care and medical support
  • Community programmes across four districts

What we do

Care with its feet on the ground.

Our work is shaped by the realities of rural life: practical, local and built around the people who need it.

04 programmes

Old age home

A secure residence with individual cots, nutritious food, personal care and the company of a shared life.

Physiotherapy clinic

Regular physiotherapy for residents and older people from the community — more than 50 sessions a month.

Health & nutrition

Medical visits, blood pressure and sugar monitoring, medicines and balanced meals planned around residents' needs.

Rural community programmes

Outreach across Dindigul, Theni, Karur and Tiruppur, supporting elders and families beyond the home.

Our home

Care within reach.

Our home and clinic are designed to be accessible to rural families. Residents receive daily care, regular health monitoring and physiotherapy, while older people from nearby villages can attend the clinic. The trust is supported by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and by local donors.
