Our mission
About REAL Trust
Three decades of quiet, steady service.
Rural Education and Liberation Trust was established in 1996 to work for the liberation and wellbeing of rural communities. Today it runs a home for elders and a physiotherapy clinic in Dharapuram.

Our story
Built for the communities around us.
REAL Trust was established and registered in 1996. Its name reflects its founding purpose: to work for rural education and liberation, with a particular concern for people whose needs are overlooked.
Over time, the trust's work came to focus on older people in rural Tiruppur and the surrounding districts. Our old age home provides a safe, dignified place to live, and our physiotherapy clinic extends care to older people in the community — more than 50 sessions a month.
The trust is supported by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and by donors who understand that rural care must be practical. We are proud of the home we have built, and conscious of how much more there is to do.

Our vision
A rural society where older people can live with security, health and dignity — close to their communities and never forgotten.
What guides us
Values we try to practise, not just publish.
These principles shape how we care for people, spend money and work with families and partners.
Rootedness
We stay close to the communities we serve and understand their realities.
01Care
Attention to health, nutrition and comfort is the core of our work.
02Dignity
Residents are individuals with histories, preferences and rights.
03Steadiness
Our work is daily and long-term; we do not disappear when a project ends.
04Milestones
A story told in years.
Not everything that matters can be measured. But these moments mark the road that brought us here.
